Try relaxing your hair lightly, its like the opposite of a perm. I used to do it but my hairs to long and I have too much.

if your hair is coarse, you will have to do something wild like rub sebatian mud on a wash cloth, and on dry hair, rub in a circular motion (one way only). It is a bit sticky, but leaves a very cool, textured look.

if you have some natural curl to your hair, you will love HIS MIX products by the Mixed Chicks company. You can apply the leave-in condditioner to wet hair and air dry.
Grow out your hair and get a perm or jerry curl, Just Kidding. Try going to a barber shop (that specializes in Black Hair Care) and asking them about it.

Don't grab a relaxer just yet. Lets see what you can do with your own hair.

How long is it?

what texture is it? Go to naturallycurly.com and have a look at the section that says hair types. This will give you a general idea of your curl pattern/texture.

basically if your hair has a natural curl to it then you will be able to enhance that curl with the right techniques and products. No idea if you are Europe or US based so i will give websites for both.

If you do have a curl pattern then some tips to try are:

Comb your hair with a seamless wide tooth comb whilst it is WET ONLY. NEVER DRY COMB. Dry combing with small tooth combs RIPS through curls and destroys them. You can comb hair after washing AND conditioning.

Please avoid shampoos and products containing SULFATES and MINERAL OIL, ALCOHOL and PETROLEUM/PETROLATUM. Use moisturising shampoos and conditioners and leave ins. Moisturised hair appears better looking. Those things dry it out meaning FRIZZ. Stop using hair grease - it's old school and it doesn't work - just makes black hair a HOT MESS!
